Value Of My Car

What is the value of my car? In a few clicks and less than a minute, get an idea from the app below.

Are you getting ready for a new car, truck, or SUV and are wondering, what is the value of my car?

There are many guides out there to give you the value of a vehicle. These are guides and are not to be taken as an exact measure. We all know vehicles depreciate, and some cars, trucks or SUVs depreciate more than others. Pricing on the guides comes from several sources, one of which is auctions. They say something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, so an auction is a great place to get these prices. Another factor that may affect a price is the region and the type of vehicle. Supply and demand can affect prices. Are there lots of the same type of vehicle in the area and are there lots of people wanting that vehicle? Or vice-versa, for example, do you live in a snowy region but have a convertible sports car? There's probably not as much demand for a vehicle that may only be practical half of the year in a snowy state.

Most car value guides, such a Kelley Blue (KBB), or NADA, for example, will give a range of prices. For example, there are retail prices and trade prices. Retail pricing is if you are selling it privately. Trade pricing is if you are trading the vehicle at a dealership. Within those two sections, the ranges might include low pricing, average pricing, and clean pricing. Very few cars, trucks, or SUVs are 'clean'. Clean refers to being an exemplary example of the vehicles, with no scratches, dents, or signs of wear.  Most vehicles fall under the category of average.

Value can be added for extra features the vehicle had fitted at the factory such as heated seats or navigation. Accessories fitted aftermarket do not typically add any value. Value is deducted for any work the vehicle needs to bring it up to a clean or selling standard. An example of this would be might be a dent in the rear bumper of a truck. A bumper might cost $800 for the part and labor to replace or fix, therefore $800 is deducted from the value.
